The safety of our customers and workers will always be our highest priority. Along with having dedicated eyes on the road 24 hours a day, we’re fully focussed on delivering a safe and efficient journey for motorists.
Incident Response
For the safety of customers, NorthConnex has a dedicated Incident Response team who will be on stand-by to respond to any vehicle breakdown or incident in the tunnel, 24/7. To enable our crews to quickly reach customers, incident response vehicles will be parked at staging areas located near the southern and northern entries.
Emergency barriers and warning signs can also be activated at tunnel entry points during incidents.
Planned Maintenance and Tunnel Closures
About four times a year, planned tunnel maintenance will be carried out. During this time and for the safety of our workers, NorthConnex tunnels will close to the travelling public.
Planned maintenance and tunnel closures will occur between the hours of 10pm and 5am.
Customers using NorthConnex will be given advanced notice. When travelling in the area, traffic will be directed onto Pennant Hills Road.
